ForexScan ("we", "our", or "the App") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use and share it, and the rights and choices you have. By using the ForexScan mobile application and related website (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide

• Contact details — when you email us for support or feedback.
• User preferences — settings you save inside the app, such as watchlists, alert thresholds, language, and theme.
• Portfolio entries — any positions, prices, or notes you manually enter into the trading ledger. These are stored locally on your device by default.

1.2 Information collected automatically

• Device information — device model, operating system version, language, screen size, and approximate region.
• App usage — pages viewed, features used, error logs, and crash reports, used to improve stability and performance.
• Network information — IP address (for request routing and abuse prevention) and basic connection metadata.

1.3 Information we do NOT collect

ForexScan does not request access to your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, SMS, or location. We do not link to any brokerage account and do not handle any of your funds.

2. Permissions Used

The ForexScan Android app requests only the minimum permissions necessary to function:

• INTERNET (android.permission.INTERNET) — required to fetch real-time forex quotes, market data, charts, and software updates from our servers and from third-party market-data providers. Without this permission the app cannot retrieve any market information.
• AD_ID (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID) — allows the app to access the Android Advertising ID (GAID). Used by our attribution SDK (AppsFlyer) to measure marketing campaign effectiveness and detect install fraud. You can reset or limit this identifier at any time via Settings → Privacy → Ads on your Android device.

ForexScan does not request any runtime permissions for contacts, photos, microphone, camera, SMS, location, or device storage.

3. Third-Party SDKs

To deliver and improve the Services, ForexScan integrates the following third-party SDKs. Each SDK is described below along with the data it may collect and a link to its own privacy policy.

3.1 AppsFlyer — Mobile Attribution & Analytics

• Purpose: Helps us understand which marketing channels bring users to the App, measure campaign effectiveness, detect install fraud, and analyze aggregate user engagement.
• Data collected: device identifiers (such as Android Advertising ID / GAID), IP address, device model and OS version, app install / uninstall events, in-app events, time zone, network operator, and install referrer information.
• Data processor: AppsFlyer Ltd., which processes the data on our behalf under its own privacy terms.

• Opt-out: You can limit advertising tracking through your Android device settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization, or reset your advertising ID).

This section will be updated whenever we add or remove a third-party SDK.

4. How We Use Information

• To deliver real-time quotes, charts, and core app functionality;
• To diagnose technical issues, fix bugs, and improve performance;
• To analyze aggregate usage trends and prioritize new features;
• To respond to your support requests;
• To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or security incidents;
• To comply with applicable legal obligations.

5. Legal Basis for Processing (EEA / UK users)

Where the GDPR applies, we process personal data on the following legal bases: (a) performance of a contract (delivering the app to you); (b) our legitimate interests (e.g., improving the Services, ensuring security); (c) compliance with legal obligations; and (d) your consent, where required.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with:

• Service providers — hosting, analytics, and crash-reporting vendors who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations;
• Market data providers — only aggregated and non-personal request data needed to fetch quotes;
• Legal authorities — when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or property.

7. Data Retention

Locally stored data (preferences, watchlists, portfolio entries) remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App. Server-side logs are retained only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, typically no longer than 12 months.

8. Data Security

We apply industry-standard technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit (TLS), restricted access controls, and routine security reviews. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your country of residence. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for cross-border transfers.

10. Children's Privacy

ForexScan is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you;
• Object to or restrict certain processing;
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
• Request data portability;
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

12. Third-Party Links

The Services may link to third-party sites or services with their own privacy practices. We are not responsible for those practices and encourage you to review their policies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, additional notice within the App.
